History
Our rich history in the petroleum equipment industry started with Mr. James "Jimmy" Newberry. In the mid 1940's Mr. Newberry began peddling pumps, hoses, and tanks in the Mid South. In 1951, Mr. Newberry moved the company to its present location in West Memphis, Arkansas to begin manufacturing tank trucks and steel storage tanks.
Mr. Newberry was a founding member of the Petroleum Equipment Institute (PEI). As a result of his determination, hard work, and drive to see the organization succeed, Mr. Newberry became known as "The Father of the PEI."
Upon Mr. Newberry's retirement, the company was acquired by the Kemp family with Hamilton Tanks of Columbus, Ohio. The company continued to grow its reputation for providing quality products and services under the direction of Mr. Tom Kemp and Mr. Scott. Over the years, Newberry has worked with organizations such as STI, PEI, NFPA, EPA, and Underwriter's Laboratories and has been instrumental in developing many of the products and standards serving the industry today.
In early 2011 the company transitioned to new ownership and today, with the leadership of Mr. Chris Long, the talented and experienced team at Newberry Tanks & Equipment, LLC is available to serve your needs for petroleum storage tanks and related equipment and services.
