A Rich History

Our rich history in the petroleum equipment industry started with Mr. James "Jimmy" Newberry. In 1927, Mr. Newberry began peddling pumps, hoses, and tanks in the Mid South. In 1951, Mr. Newberry moved the company to its present location in West Memphis, Arkansas, to begin manufacturing tank trucks and steel storage tanks.

Mr. Newberry was a founding member of the Petroleum Equipment Institute (PEI). As a result of his determination, hard work, and drive to see the organization succeed, Mr. Newberry became known as "The Father of the PEI."

The company continued to grow its reputation for providing quality products and services. Over the years, Newberry has worked with organizations such as STI, PEI, NFPA, EPA, and Underwriter's Laboratories and has been instrumental in developing many of the products and standards serving the industry. Today, Newberry is focused on "New Thinking." Bringing the traditions of the past 60 years into harmony with a modernized sales and production system.
